Let the Unoffical Silly Season commence!

Well boys & girls we are in the close to mid season to where a 3 week break is happening in Formula 1 and of course, there are some seats available for a driver so let's start with the biggest and that is of course, Infiniti Red Bull. Vettel needs a new teammate so who fill the void that Mark Webber has done for the past couple of years? Well, the rumors are reporting a few names, the 2 drivers from Toro Rosso: Jean-Eric Vergne & Daniel Ricciardo, also in consideration is the reserve driver for IBR... Sebastian Buemi (2 Seb's????). Sure all could be suitable partners but so far only one name has stuck out throughout the whole rumor ever since it started....

Lotus Renault's Kimi Raikkkonen a former F1 World Champion under Ferrari is the main front runner and possible guarantee. Vettel has some leverage on who he will choose as a teammate & reports say he wants Kimi. Even Red Bull posted on their facebook page who would you want? Raikkonen is running away with while typing this. However, if or in some cases, when Kimi signs, I have this odd feeling this will be more of a Senna/Prost team. Two alphas fighting for dominance. Which is nothing new but it makes us think...

Kimi isn't the only free agent though, Lots of drivers are rumored to switch teams, for example, Nico Rosberg is rumored for Felipe Massa's seat in Ferrari while Nico Hulkenberg is rumored to take over Kimi's seat at Lotus is Kimi isn't able to resign with Lotus. Paul DiResta is either rumored to go either Ferrari or Mercedes as well. I'd say his chances would be with Mercedes due to his history in DTM, he's somewhat loyal to Merc.

Other names also include Pastor Maldonado but that's a huge risk your taking as well, but he brings one thing with him, sponsorship but Williams is rumored to say that they won't resign him.

This is just one of the many different silly season that will start up. NASCAR will be up & I'm sure IndyCar will have theirs as well. Only time will tell but let's see what July brings us.
